Last week we told you about how the inMotionNow marketing department is using their Project Workspaces and project filter groups to keep everyone aligned. There’s another tool in the Project Organizer toolbox that’s just as important: the Project Dashboard.
Tracking Tasks
Before fully implementing Project Organizer, our marketing team members each had their own way of managing their tasks and deadlines – usually involved some combination of checklists, notebooks, post-its, Outlook, and plain old human memory. The problem was, everyone knew what they were doing but nobody knew what everyone was doing.
With Project Organizer’s Project Dashboard, you can list tasks and deadlines and share updates with the whole project team. Now we always know what the next step is for any project, and who’s currently working on it.
Plus, the My Project Tasks report makes it easy to see for anyone on the team to see all of their action items listed in one place – and you get the satisfaction of checking them off and see that status bar go from red to green! Even better, the marketing director has one place where she can go and see a list of all projects and all tasks, who’s responsible for what, and which tasks are completed/pending.
Now when we sit down on Mondays for our weekly marketing department meeting, we can see all of our projects and their statuses in one screen, plus go a real-time report of individual tasks. Finally, everyone’s on the same page!
