A recent article from the American Marketing Association by Zach Brooke reveals some of the most important soft skills that employers look for in candidates. Specifically, communication, collaboration and creativity top the list of soft skills that employers want from their next hire.
“Lately, employers have developed a soft spot for soft skills – communication, collaboration, creativity, everything people say they learned in kindergarten but forget as soon as they are confined behind a keyboard or in a cubicle.”
In fact, companies whose employees lack these skills are seeing a hit in productivity:
“A recent LinkedIn survey of nearly 300 hiring managers says the dearth of soft skills among their work forces is a drain on productivity. Now, the search is on to identify candidates who bring strength to a team as well as make individual contributions.”
