As 2015 begins, we have taken a little of time to reflect back on the past year. Three ‘hot topics’ surface for creative workflow:
- Managing change
- Managing client feedback
- Helping clients become creative partners
inMotionNow’s Product Marketing Manager, Josh Gibbs, got the opportunity to sit down with creative and marketing professionals during an InSource Roundtable to discuss challenges they are facing in the changing landscape of the creative industry and some best practices.
During the conversation, three major themes stood out:
- Getting the recognition your team deserves
- Finding (and keeping) outside talent is actually good
- Inspiring change
Throughout the year at tradeshows, conferences, and roundtables we heard a lot from creative teams about the challenge of collecting feedback on creative work from their clients. In-house teams of all sizes have struggled to combine feedback into an understandable, single voice. With multiple reviewers all trying to give their feedback and suggest revisions, your quality, creative work can slowly go from sensational to senseless.
According to the 2013 Creative Industry Report, the top challenge reported by leaders of creative teams is client behavior. Gaps in communication can lead to project delays and negatively impact the quality of creative work. So what can agencies do to foster more productive relationships with their clients?
In our Turning Clients into Creative Partners blog series we presented actionable ideas you can put to use at every stages of the project lifecycle – from intake, through execution, to final review and approval.
